Well it has been a while since the 2012 London Olympic Games and a lot has happened so stay tuned to this site for weekly updates on what’s happened since London but first I thought we should look at the big event itself. As you all know I went off line during the games but I thought it would be interesting to keep note off what my tweet updates would have been whilst at the Games and going over them now 3 months later I find it funny to read so this web update will be a little different to normal. It will be in Twitter format. Enjoy, Anna

Feeding the belief not the doubt - Sprint today. It starts again with the qualifying. Bounce back time. - Very very happy with my qualifying time 10.807sec. 2nd fastest. Almost 0.2 quicker than London world cup - Round 1. Check. Round 2 Check. More Chaddy time makes me smile :) - Quarter finals. Check :) - OMG! Just ran into Mark Webber in the foyer…. When I just had a shower and didn’t do my hair!!! GR. Got a pic anyway. Very cool. What a legend! Big day tomorrow. Come on Girl! You can do this! - Hmmm… you know this gig is stressful when you find a white eyebrow hair. Plucked it ASAP! - Shulika after quarters brought an interpreter to pass comment to me. Words of such heart-warming kindness. Making an impact :) - Semi’s today with Guo… Here I go. - At 130am I sit in my room starring at an object that resoundingly states I am the Olympic Sprint champion. All I can do at this moment is sit on my bed, hold that object in my hands and stare at it… - I am after 3 attempts finally the Olympic Sprint Champion.
What followed the sprint final was 3 days of media, one day to tour around London to sight see with Mark before he flew home. I got my parents into the village with Mark to show them around after the sprint which was special to share. They even got to meet Steve Waugh. I have never seen my dad look like he had the excitement of a 10 year old in his eyes. I watched the BMX finals and then the next day was the closing ceremony before we departed London bound for Australia. For more on that chapter. Tune in here soon. I hope you have enjoyed this update Anna Meares |
