After her fall in 2008 she realised the importance of high quality safety wear after her uvex glasses did not scratch, dent or break keeping her eyes protected while sliding across wood but also her uvex helmet saved her from potentially ending her life after absorbing the impact of her head hitting the boards at 65km/h. With only a dent on the outside, the inner shell was literally in pieces taking the impact from what would have been her head.
